Alex is a brand and visual communication designer, currently practicing independently. She helps clients realize their vision by deeply grounding her work in research and strategy. With more than a decade of industry experience, Alex has a strong passion for combining the power of beauty and human-centered design in creating brands, experiences and products that are purpose-led, meaningful, and accessible to all.

Most recently, Alex was a founding member at Ness, a startup leveraging fintech to make health insurance accessible to all. As Head of Brand, she lead the development of the company’s visual and strategic brand identity.

Previously, as Design Lead at IDEO, Alex did work across a breadth of industries. She designed a visual tool to help people living with HIV make the right medication choices, created an ever-changing logo that measures the impact of a global conglomerate, built an exhibit telling the stories of aid workers in Rohingya refugee camps, prototyped voice assistants in autonomous vehicles, and built an immersive experience redefining aging and death. She’s helped numerous companies develop their brands, from meditation apps, to skincare brands, to snacks—for cats!

Alex has worked with clients including J.P. Morgan Chase, Red Bull, Logitech, Google, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, J.M. Smuckers, Kraft Heinz, The City of San Francisco, Takeda, Gilead, The Miami City Ballet, and many early stage startups.
